Here to Listen, Here to Help: Introducing Myself as Your Therapist

Hi, I’m Danielle and I’m so glad that you’ve found this page!

I’m an integrative counsellor based in the beautiful hills of South Wales.

I believe in the power of kindness, compassion, and authenticity. In my sessions, you’ll find a warm, non-judgmental space where you can speak freely and feel truly heard. I take pride in being a good listener and creating a relaxed environment where you can explore your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors without fear of criticism. Whether you’re looking to understand your actions, navigate life’s challenges, or simply find a safe place to be yourself, I’m here to support you with honesty, empathy, and a genuine desire to help.

My Therapeutic Approach

As an integrative therapist I take a little bit from multiple theoretical backgrounds to meet my client where they are with what they need. What does that actually mean? It means that we as humans are all unique, with different circumstances, different backgrounds and different needs – therapy is not a one size fits all approach. What will be helpful for one person, might feel very unhelpful to another and that is totally normal!

I’m able to listen and respond to client’s needs and bring into the room what therapeutic intervention feels appropriate. I use a combination of Person Centred Therapy, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy and a Psychodynamic approach to provide clients with a wide range of support.

In our sessions, I help you identify what truly matters to you—your values—and work with you to set meaningful, values-driven goals. Together, we explore practical steps and behavior changes that align with those goals, so you can move toward a more fulfilling life.

But it’s not just about change—it’s also about acceptance. I’ll help you learn to ride the wave of emotions, experiencing them without letting them take over. This means recognizing that feelings, even the painful ones, are part of being human, and they don’t have to control your life.

And sometimes, what you need most is simply a safe space to share those painful thoughts, feelings and memories – your fears for the future. I’m here for that too—offering a warm, non-judgmental place where you can express what’s on your mind and heart without fear of criticism.

Why I Became A Counsellor

I became a counsellor because I’ve always believed in the importance of feeling seen, heard, and understood. Life can be tough, and everyone deserves a space where they can let down their guard and explore their thoughts without fear of being judged. My passion for helping others has led me to create that space for my clients.

My Qualifications

I have a Postgraduate Diploma in Integrative Counselling & Psychotherapy from the University of South Wales. I’m also a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). You can learn more about the BACP here.

Continued professional development (CPD) via additional training is also extremely important to me and my practice because it ensures that I can offer the most effective, up-to-date support to my clients while also growing as a person and a therapist. I’m committed to learning and evolving as we learn more about what helps the human mind.

Getting in Touch

I know how nerve wracking it can be to reach out for the first time and I want to remove as much of the anxiety around that as I can. I offer a free 15 minute phone call where you can ask any questions you may have about me or the way I work before you decide to book a session.

I’m happy to give you as much information or reassurance as you need – I understand that talking about ourselves can make us feel very vulnerable, it’s my job to make you feel safe in that vulnerability.
